CHILKO RIVER EXPEDITIONS

Locked in the heart of the Chilcotin Plateau is one of the most magnificent rivers in British Columbia. The key to the river’s success is spectacular Chilko lake. Nestled on the eastern side of the coast range, this 60 mile long lake feeds our appetites for the many whitewater thrills to come. The glaciers provide a steady supply of silty water to the lake. The silt then settles and gives the river its startling clear blue colour. The Chilco is also host to a large sockeye salmon run every fall; this guarantees the sighting of many bears and eagles feeding on the salmon.
